The Rosemont women's tennis team played a rare road doubleheader today. The Ravens came close to wins in both matches, but came up short at Keystone College and at Baptist Bible College.
Match 1 – Rosemont @ Keystone College

The Giants eked out a 5-4 victory over the Ravens this afternoon.
After winning one point in the doubles, they needed four points in the singles competition to take the decision. The Ravens came close, but took three of the six singles, just one short of their goal.
In the doubles, the #1 tandem of Kirsten Sanford and Asha Anderson won their match 8-6. In the #2 and #3 doubles, the matches were decided in very close decisions with Keystone winning #2 (8-6) and #3 (8-5).
Moving to the singles matches, Rosemont claimed their wins in the #2 flight with Asha Anderson (6-3, 6-0), #3 flight with Emily Javitt (2-6, 6-1, 6-3) and #5 flight with Maddie Leonard (2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6)).
The Ravens were defeated in extremely close singles matches, going down 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 in the #1 flight and 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) in the #4 flight.
Match 2 – Rosemont @ Baptist Bible College

Rosemont were defeated by the Defenders by a set count of 6-3.
Asha Anderson and Kirsten Sanford got Rosemont's second match of the day off to a good start, winning their #1 doubles flight by a score of 9-8 (10-4).
In the singles, Sanford took another point for the Ravens in the #1 singles (6-4, 6-2) and Emily Javitt scored a win in the #3 singles flight (6-3, 6-4) to account for Rosemont's 2nd and 3rd points.
With the two losses today the Ravens fell to 0-13 on the season overall (0-9 CSAC). The team wraps up their season on Monday, 10/20, when they travel to Baltimore to face the Notre Dame (MD) Gators beginning at 4:00pm.
