Box ScoreBALTIMORE, Md. – The Ravens got off to a great start, winning two of the three doubles matches to start things off in their match against the Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) Gators this afternoon, but the Gators bounced back winning four out of the five completed singles matches to snatch the win from the Ravens by a final score of 5-3.
The match was the final game in the conference and ended the season for both teams with the Ravens wrapping up their season with an 0-14 overall record (0-10 CSAC). The Gators ended their season with a record of 2-11 (1-9 CSAC).
The Ravens took points in the #2 and #3 doubles flights as Kirsten Sanford and Kristy Evans nabbed an 8-2 decision and Nia Hall and Elizabeth Russell won their match 8-3. In the #1 doubles match, Emily Javitt and Maddie Leonard fought hard, just losing a 7-9 decision.
Maddie Leonard won in the #4 singles flight to account for Rosemont's third match point. Emily Javitt's match in the #2 singles flight was halted due to darkness after NDMU had already won four points in the other singles matches, and had enough match points to earn the winning decision.
Though the Ravens lost four points in the singles, three of the four losses were hotly contested, with Kirsten Sanford (#1), Kristy Evans (#3) and Nia Hall (#6) all going to three sets for the decision.
