Rosemont women earn regional rankings in first NCAA release

Ravens are fifth in Atlantic region

In a year of first for the Rosemont women's basketball team, add another one to the list.

First appearance in the NCAA's Regional Rankings.

The Ravens - 18-3 overall and 12-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with two weeks left in the regular season- earned the fifth spot in the Atlantic Region when the NCAA came out with its first of three polls leading into the NCAA Tournament was released on Wednesday afternoon.

It is the first time that Rosemont has earned such an honor. It comes in the middle of a 13 game winning streak that stretches to the last game before Christmas that has seen the Ravens win by an average of 26.4 points a contest. 

The Ravens will be the top seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament, which will begin at Alumnae Hall on Feb. 20 with a semifinal contest against the lowest remaining seeded team remaining.
