Box Score 2 Chambersburg, PA| Rosemont Traveled to Chambersburg to Compete in the United East Softball Playoffs hosted by Wilson College.
How it Started:
Ravens v. Gators:
Rosemont was matched up against Saint Elizabeth University for the first round game of the the United East Playoff hosted by Wilson College,
Lauren Begg would toe up the rubber for game one.
Rosemont would get up early in the bottom of the first inning as
Lauren Begg drew a walk and after stolen base and a SAC bunt by
Kendyll Strohl,
Emily Bingman rounded into a fielders choice to give the Ravens the lead 1-0.
Top of the second Begg would go 1-2-3 grounding out all batters. Bottom of the inning
Allison Goodman would reach on an error and Kylee Kubischek singled putting two runners on base. Shona Willoghby would single into the gap scoring Goodman before Kubischek would score on a throwing error. Strohl would single to the right field gap scoring Willoughby and giving the Ravens a 4-0 lead.
Top of the third Lauren would limit the damage to one Run as the Gators scored on a sacrifice fly. Bottom of the inning
Analisa Yoder would draw a walk as Goodman would reach on a fielders choice bringing up
Ryli Kifolo would would be hit by a pitch loading th bases for the Ravens with one down. Kubischek would walk driving in a run, followed by a wild pitch that would score Goodman. Shona would fly out for a sacrifice fly to score another run for the Ravens as they took a 7-1 lead.Â
Begg would continue to shove through the top of the fourth adding a strikeout, bringing back up the hot bats of the Ravens. Two singles from Kendyll and Analisa would put two on with one out but they would be left stranded.
Lauren would allow two singles in th top of the fifth but with the help of her defense she would hold on to the solo run allowed striking out the last batter of the inning. Bottom of the inning the Ravens would add another run as Klyee Kubischek would single, and a double by
Kendyll Strohl would drive home Kylee as the Ravens led 8-1.Â
The Ravens would hold onto their 8-1 lead through the sixth and top of the seventh inning as the topped the Gators. They would go on to play Wilson directly after.
Ravens v. Phoenix:
Cheyanne Willoighby would toe up the rubber for the Ravens as the started the 2nd round of the United East Playoffs versus the Wilson College Phoenix.
Rosemont would get off to a hot start scoring in the top of the first inning as
Lauren Begg reached on a single, stealing second and third base after a walk by
Kendyll Strohl. Begg was able to sore on a wild pitch by Wilson but Strohl was halted at third as the Ravens moved to the bottom of the first. Willoughby would strikeout her first batter and get the next two outs with popup to
Emily Bingman behind the plate as the Ravens led 1-0.
Top of the second,
Shona Willoughby would single with two outs followed by another single from Begg. Nonetheless, the Ravens were left stranded with a runner in scoring position. Bottom of the second Wilson would tie the game with no outs, but the defense behind Willoughby made great plays to hold the damage to one.Â
Top of the third Ravens would unfortunately go 1-2-3 for the first time in the tournament. Willoughby would get hit around slightly in the third, bur a throwing error would allow an extra two runs as Wilson took a 5-1 lead.Â
Top of the fourth Rosemont would respond as
Allison Goodman waled followed by a single by Klyee Kubischek. Bringing up
Shona Willoughby who would single for an RBI, scoring Goodman. A pitching change for Wilson did not phase Begg who would single for her third hit of the game scoring Kubischek. Strohl would bunt loading up the bases for
Emily Bingman would would fly out for a sacrifice fly bringing the Ravens back within one run 5-4. Bottom of the inning Bingman would gun down a runner trying to take second base as Willoughby would force weak contact for the next two outs.
Top of the fifth inning the Ravens would take the lead and not look back. Goodman would start off with a walk followed by four doubles in a row! The first coming from
Alicia Gotts who would pinch hit for Greice, scoring Goodman, followed by Kylee Kubischek that would score Gotts. Another double by Shona would score Kubischek followed by a double by Begg. A triple by
Kendyll Strohl would score Willoughby and Begg as the Ravens took a 9-5 lead.
Olivia Hamme would double down the line scoring another two runs as the Ravens would lead 11-5. Bottom of the fifth Willoughby would continue to create weak contact using her defense for two out and striking out another batter in the inning holding the Ravens lead.
The Sixth inning would keep the game at 11-5 holding the lead for the Ravens as they would add onto their lead in the seventh inning.
Analisa Yoder would single with one out, followed by a double by
Olivia Hamme. An
Allison Goodman single followed by an error by Wilson would score both runners.
Alicia Gotts would get hit bya pitch followed by a bunt from
Michaela Kent would load up the bases for
Shona Willoughby. She would fly out foul to deep left scoring another run, giving the Ravens a 14-5 advantage.
Willoughby would strike out the first batter of the inning followed by a walk and a double play by the defense would seal the deal for the Ravens as they placed themselves in the United East Championship.
What's Next:
The Ravens will face of versus the winner of Notre Dame of Maryland v. Wilson College Monday at 2pm. That elimination game will resume at 12pm.Â
